It stands for Attention, Desire, Interest, Action.

You should always follow this acronym when writing ad copy for any purpose.

Attention: Get the readers attention with your effective headline, this is the ad copy that you want to stand out above all of the other ads present. Make it stand out.

Desire: Let them know what it is that they will get, make it consice and brief. People always want to know what is in it for them.

Interest: Keep their interest, they finished the title and now are reading your content you need to spell out your claims about what you are offering and how it will benefit them.

Action: Show them how to "ACT NOW" such as click this link now or hurry before this offer expires.
